Lactose, Monohydrate, Powder, Reagent, ACS, is a found in milk and this disaccharide sugar is extracted from sweet or sour whey. Due to the fact that Lactose is not fermented by yeast it can be added to stout beer to sweeten it. As an ACS grade Reagent, Spectrum Chemical manufactured lactose is used as the quality standard against which other substances are graded and has met the toughest regulatory standards for quality and pureness.
