General description
Albumin is abundantly present in human plasma. Increased levels of albumin result in dehydration. Albumin turnover is usually found in children with iron deficiency anemia. It is a predictive indicator for liver disease.
Application
Bovine Serum Albumin has been used:
• to block non-specific binding of the antibodies
• as a component of activating medium for inducing sperm motility
• to determine the protein concentration of the bacteriocin by the bicinchoninic acid (BCA) method
